The story of Noah, his Ark, and the Great Flood may very well be one of the most famous stories of all humanity. It is a story that is remembered the world over. There are over 177 known versions of this ancient Flood story that wiped out all of humanity, except one Man and his family. It is such a universal story that it makes it very difficult not to believe that all the different versions of this story come from one source.
It is as if they all come from some long lost single ancient mother culture and tradition that gave birth to all other cultures the world over. Not only is there some type of version of this Flood story known by just about all people and cultures the world over, it could also one of the most controversial stories of all time.
One of the greatest and oldest debates about this ancient story is also the one thing that makes it so controversial in the first place. It is the ever famous part of the story of Noah being instructed to take two of each animal onto the great Ark. This is also a perfect example that next to nobody actually reads the Biblical story. For the story actually says that Noah was told by the LORD to take seven males and their females of the clean beasts and fowls of the air and only two of the unclean, one male and his female.
Below is what is actually in Genesis 7: 2, 3 where we are told that after the Ark was built, the LORD instructed Noah:
“Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and his female: to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.” (Genesis 7: 2, 3. KJV).
These two verses may have caused more controversy and debate over the years for believer and skeptic alike, than anything else in this ancient book we call the Bible. Believers look at these two verses and believe what it says, that Noah literately took seven each of the clean and two of each of the unclean animals and placed them on the Ark as God commanded.
I am not entirely sure on why most everybody only seems to remember the part about the taking only two each of the unclean, with people typically thinking, 2 camels, 2 cows, 2 goats, etc. and not the seven each of the clean, but even though most all forget about it, the basic idea is the same, an great Ark filled with all the animals of the world.
The skeptic looks at these same verses and quickly scoffs at the very idea that you could somehow place two each of all the animals in the world onto ship as the described in the Biblical story. To them this story is utter nonsense of myth and legend though it might in some way be tied to an actual ancient floods that were survived by a very small number of people and that over time grew into the stories we have today.
So which one is right? Believer or Skeptic?
What if I told you that the real truth is that both sides of this little debate were wrong? Not only wrong, but that the ugly truth to whole matter is that neither side actually knows what they are talking about in the first place?
The reason I say that is because neither the believer nor the skeptic is aware of the symbolic meaning of the ‘animals’ in the Noah story. This is the true esoteric secret to understanding this most ancient of stories of mankind.
Not only is it the secret to understanding the story of Noah, but is also one of the first secrets to understanding the the entire Biblical story as a whole. And the only way to do this is that you must know the meaning to the symbolism as a whole. Once you know about this symbolism and its hidden meaning it will also allow you to see how it is encoded within the Biblical text.
And the very hard fact of the whole matter is that if you don’t know about or ever read the Dream Vision of Enoch, then there is really no way for you to even begin to understand the symbolism in the first place.
And just as you need a legend or key to read and understand the symbols on a map, you need the ‘Key’ or ‘Legend’ to the symbols that are encoded within the Biblical text. And again, just like a map, once you have that key to the symbols, you can understand the real meaning of the information drawn on the map.
This is the true secret to the Dream Vision and to understanding the hidden knowledge of the esoteric. I think one of the primary reasons the Book of Enoch was removed from the Biblical text in the first place, because it provides the key to understanding symbolism contained within the whole Biblical story. Which brings us to the very first thing to understand about the Dream Vision of Enoch is also the very secret to understanding the symbolic meaning of the animals of Noah’s Ark.
For the Dream Vision of Enoch, contained within the ancient Book of Enoch, is the allegorical or symbolic retelling of the Biblical story that uses Animals to represent people of groups of people and men to represent Angels. This is the little piece of hidden esoteric knowledge that is the secret to truly understand this story of Noah and his Ark. It is also one of the first steps into realizing the true meaning of the symbols contained within these ancient stories that still surround and influence us to this very day.
This fact that the Dream Vision of Enoch is a symbolic retelling of the Biblical story that uses animals to represent people or groups of people is one of the greatest secrets of the esoteric knowledge of this story. It also greatly helps in clearing up much of the controversy and debate that has surrounded this story. Once you realize and understand that the ‘animals’ represent people then this story of Noah begins to leave the realm of legend and myth that needs to be taken on faith and begins to enter into the real world of possibility.
This esoteric understanding that the animals represent people then allows us to realize that the biblical story of Noah is actually telling us that Noah was instructed to take seven males (and their females) of each people that were clean and only one male and female of each group that were deemed unclean.
The very first thing this does is solve the whole size of the Ark problem that skeptics like to use. This understanding that it is actually people we are talking about and not animals, then the Ark as described in Biblical story is more than large enough to hold a large number of people and supplies for them.
Using the numbers given in the Bible (in modern measurements) of a ship 450 ft. long, 75 ft. wide, and 45 ft. tall, broken into at least three main decks, (plus accounting for support structures and other engineering factors) you end up with around 81,000 to 90,000 sq. ft. of living area. Which is more than enough space to place at least a thousand to fifteen-hundred people on board, including supplies for 150 days without much trouble. It should be noted that this number could be much higher due to the fact that we don’t really know how Noah crammed them in or what type of supplies they actually took with them.
Now this is where it starts to get interesting, because if we take this story as it is, with or without this new esoteric knowledge of the animals. It is telling us that at some time in the ancient past a great and terrible flood just about wiped out humanity on this planet with only a very small number of people surviving this event to repopulate the world. Which then raises the question is there any evidence that supports this idea of humanity almost being wiped out long ago?
And the truth is, there is scientific evidence that thousands of years ago humanity genetically bottle-necked and came very close to extinction, with what is believed to be less than a couple thousand (or less) people that survived this event. Which is very similar to what we are told in the Biblical story of Noah and the many other flood stories. The main problem most will have with it is when this extinction level event happened to our ancestors. Because science tells us this almost extinction of humanity happen about 72,000 or so years ago and it may also be connected to the Toba Super-Volcano Eruption that occurred approximately at the same time. This eruption is also thought to either be the cause of last Ice Age or at least a large factor in making the conditions worse.
Which as everybody knows is long before any modern interpretation of human history thinks or even believes this ancient flood could have occurred. But the problem is that this ancient story of Noah and modern science appear to be telling us the exact same thing. That a catastrophic event happened that wiped out most of humanity at that time, leaving at most a few thousand people alive. Modern science tells us that these people, these survivors, were located somewhere in the Middle Eastern areas, (possibly in the area of eastern Africa and modern day Arabia) and very slowly over time moved out into Africa and across much of the subcontinent of Asia, with some appearing to move into the areas of what is known as the Fertile Crescent.
And with that knowledge in hand, if we go back and take a look at what the Dream Vision of Enoch and its version of the Flood story says, we will find that it actually doesn’t say anything about saving the ‘animals’ as in the Biblical text. It instead focuses on ‘three bulls’ that enter into the Ark with Noah. These three bulls that are spoken of in the Dream Vision are remembered as the three sons of Noah in the Biblical story.
And one of those four went to that whit bull and instructed him in a secret, without him being terrified: he was born a bull [first man] and became a man, [Angel or higher of being] and built for himself a great vessel and dwelt thereon; and three bulls dwelt with him in that vessel and they were covered in it….And again I saw in the vision till those water torrents were removed form that high roof, and the chasms of the earth were leveled up and other abysses were opened. Then the water began to run down into these, till the earth became visible; but that vessel settled on the earth, and the darkness retired and the light appeared. But that white bull which had become a man came out of that vessel, and the three bull with him, and one of those three was white like that bull [that became a man], and one of them was red as blood, and one black; and that white bull [that became a man] departed from them. (Book of Enoch, 89: 1, 7, 8, 9)
The remarkable thing here is that we are told that the three bulls who entered the Ark were somehow transformed into three different colors. Knowing that these three bulls are remembered as the three sons of Noah in the Bible gives us one final piece to the puzzle. Because if we go back to the Biblical story we are given the ‘Generation of the sons of Noah’ in Chapter 10 of Genesis.
What is important here is the fact that the names that are given for the children of each of the sons of Noah and their following generations. Many of these names appear to be related too or belong to different language groups much different than ancient Hebrew. For example, the Bible says the sons of Ham were named Cush, Mizraim, Phut, & Canaan which all appear to be closer to the many languages of Africa. The sons of Shem were named Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, & Aram, which seem to closer the languages of the Fertile Crescent. And finally the sons of Japheth, Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubalk, Meshech, & Tiras, sound similar to words we find in the Subcontinent of Asia. Granted, that isn’t really based on much outside of the fact that names sound similar to languages found today in these different areas to somebody who isn’t an expert on ancient languages.
But the reason I am point that out is because if you take that idea and combine it with the idea given in the Dream Vision that each of the sons of Noah could have represented a different racial group. And then overlay that with the scientific knowledge of how we think our ancient ancestors moved out across the planet after the near extinction event of 70,000+ years ago, plus the how different racial groups were spread across the old world. It all appears to fit like a glove as the old saying goes. If, and only if, you can get around all the cultural programming that all of human history has only happened in the last six to ten thousand years.
For if you can do that, then you will realize that this is the real secret to understanding the esoteric knowledge of the symbolism of the Animals. It also allows you to truly understand for the very first time, that this most ancient of stories of humanity, is not just one of myth and legend that must be taken of faith. But a real story that is giving details of an actual event that almost wiped out humanity that still influences us to this very day. -RJ-
